Enduring Divine Presence 46 Days of Omer 5783

Today is forty-six days, which is six weeks and four days of the Omer in the year 5783. נצח שבשכינה, Netzach ShebeShekhinah. Enduring Divine Presence. If God is the name for the Essence Beyond Description, The Cause of Being, the Oneness of Ideals -- are we called to be aligned with that Oneness? When we slip from alignment, are we worthy to discuss it?

Losing Our Way And Choosing To Return

These posts are hardest when I have a terrible morning.

Forty minutes of cajoling someone to take their medication exhausts me.

And leaves me flooded with guilt for how terribly I dealt with the setback.

Nevertheless, we must go forward.

"Those who have drawn Me close to them, I will draw close to Me."

Canon Without Closure: Torah Commentaries by Ismar Schorsch (Aviv Press), p472 quoting Numbers Rabbah 1:12

This is The Way.

Enduring knowledge of God requires us to pursue the Divine.

We cannot begin with cynicism and expect to feel Her Presence.

Nor will sarcasm drawn Her in.

Our anger distances us from The Source.

Joy, Love, Kindness, Truth, and Justice draw us towards The Ground of Being.

Tefillah, Torah, and Tzedekah Bind Us to Her

Calming ourselves and turning towards Gratitude with tefillah, with prayer.

Learning Torah, Wisdom, helps ground us.

Remembering our obligation to Tzedekah, righteousness: 1/10th of our material abundance for the greater good — the poor and our communal institutions; and working towards justice.

These are the lynchpins of Enduring Divine Presence.
